Stitch bonding

A type of interconnecting method for wire bonding. The bonding wire is interconnected directly with the electrode. A type of solid phase bonding in which solid metals are interconnected to one another. As bonding energy, heat is supplied by the heater and ultrasonic vibration and force are transmitted via the capillary tool. It is typically used for connecting the 2nd bond and beyond of wire bonding, but can be used for the 1st bond as well. When the wedge tool is used, it is called wedge bonding.
